We had the opportunity and the fortune to interview Cosmano Lombardo, creator of the Web Marketing Festival , the most complete event in Europe on: Training, Entertainment, Networking, Startup, Business and Innovation.

“What are the needs that led you to create the Web Marketing Festival? With what expectations ?

There were a number of reasons that led to the creation of this event: first of all, the fact that there was no event that dealt with the themes of web marketing and digital combined with more social aspects.

It should be the task of those who work in this sector, that is, in web marketing and digital, given the boom it has had in recent years, to promote the digital tool in social issues and social innovation.

The Web Marketing Festival was born from the need to reflect together, to build moments of training, networking and creation of initiatives with a high social impact, starting from digital.

The desire to build something that goes beyond digital and web marketing.

“What are the subjects, that is, the different worlds, that meet at the Web Marketing Festival?”

At WMF, everyone connected to digital meets, all the people who have been overwhelmed by this revolution: from music, to entertainment, to the artistic part, to the social part.

This year we will deal with topics such as legality, that is, topics related to active citizenship.

There is also the world of non-profits that is touched in this event, as well as the world of sports, the world of school.

Of course, there will be start-ups and innovation: the real heart of the event. There will also be a photography exhibition area.

There are few people who are left out of this festival.

“How has the Festival evolved from the First Edition to the 2017 edition?”

We started from a purely technical event: initially there were six training rooms on as many levers of web marketing, whose name was “Web Revolution” (the digital revolution for the evolution of society).

Even though we hadn't, from the beginning, developed this slightly more social part in terms of initiatives and themes: the theme was in our gut.

The Festival has therefore also evolved in technical terms related to web marketing . This year our rooms are 30: 15 per day. We have therefore developed, over the years, various initiatives such as the web series contest.

An interesting line of development has been the relationship with universities: we have a project, born two years ago, called “WMF Lab” which brings young students closer to the world of work.

We have built our event over the years together with the stakeholders involved in the event.

“What’s new for 2017 at the Web Marketing Festival? In particular, the Web Series Contest?”

The contest is organized in collaboration with Roma Web Fest. The most interesting part of the contest are the themes on which participants can submit their series projects, namely legality, immigration and start up.

It is not a contest with random themes but of current interest, on which the event moves. We hope to have added quality to our event, thanks to the precious collaboration with the Roma Web Fest.

“3 good reasons why a small to medium business should participate in the Web Marketing Festival?”

1. The less obvious reason why a SME should participate is the “digital job placement” area, i.e. a service for matching supply and demand for digital professions. For example, if a small company is looking for professionals to join its team, it will have the opportunity to interview at the WMF.

2. A training need: the interventions are very varied, both basic and advanced on the main levers of web marketing. A PMI has the possibility to train staff on several aspects.

3. Networking: a very large exhibition area with moments of entertainment that allow a small company to get in touch with big players, but also with freelancers.

It is certainly an interesting moment of growth and an opportunity for team building. Small businesses are fortunate to work in a very united context and the WMF can be an opportunity for the team to strengthen.

An experience to be lived, not just an event.
